Frequency Specific Microcurrent in Hoschton, GA

A very small electrical current, set to the tissue that hurts, for the aches that massage alone hasn't finished.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent, or FSM, is a pain-care technique that uses very low levels of electrical current at chosen frequencies. We add it to massage when your body needs more than hands alone.

FSM is new to the area, though the science behind it is not new. Hart Fandridge, LMT, ES offers it for the aches that have outlasted rest, stretching and a good massage.

What FSM is

A frequency is how fast a pulse repeats, measured in hertz. Different tissues respond to different frequencies, and there are frequencies for nearly every type of tissue in the body. We choose the ones that match what is involved, such as muscle, nerve or scar tissue.

The current is tiny, about one-millionth of an ampere, similar to holding a AA battery between two fingers. Your cells already make their own electrical current, and FSM is meant to mimic it. That match is called resonance. It aims to reduce pain and swelling and to encourage your body's own healing.

What it feels like

You may barely feel it

Most people don't notice the current at all while it works.

No downtime afterward

There is nothing to recover from, so your day carries on.

Come well hydrated

Drink plenty of water beforehand, which is the only preparation.

Side effects are rare

When they happen, they are mild, such as nausea or drowsiness.

Why we add it to massage

Some spots are too sore to dig into. A guarding muscle or a raw area does not welcome deep pressure, and we won't force it. FSM lets us work on that tissue without pressing hard, so we can isolate the part causing the trouble.

It adds to your massage rather than replacing it. Your session still follows the problem to where it started, and FSM is one more tool alongside your hands.

FSM is most often used for pain in muscle and nerve tissue and for scar tissue. Depending on the problem, treatment can loosen or soften tight muscle, which can ease pain or stiffness.

How many FSM sessions to plan for

FSM works best when the first sessions sit close together, such as two in one week, with longer gaps between sessions after that. How many you need depends on you and what we are treating.

If FSM isn't helping you, we'll tell you instead of booking more.

How an FSM visit goes

STEP 01

Start with your story

Tell us where it hurts, how long it's been there, and what you want back.

STEP 02

We choose frequencies

We pick frequencies for the tissue involved, such as muscle, nerve or scar tissue.

STEP 03

Mild current goes in

A two-channel device delivers the current to the area, and most people barely feel it.

STEP 04

We plan your series

Two sessions close together in the first week, then longer gaps between visits.

Who should skip FSM

FSM is considered very safe for most people, and side effects are rare and mild, such as nausea or drowsiness. We can't use it if you:

  • Have a pacemaker
  • Use an insulin pump
  • Are pregnant
  • Have seizures that aren't controlled

Tell us about any of these when you call or book, and ask if you're unsure whether something applies to you.
